From Peter Hillary

World Youth Adventures is delighted to have the support of world-renowned adventurer Peter Hillary, who has long supported the benefits of outdoor adventures for the personal development of students.

"Since the age of seven, when my father first took me climbing, adventure has been my life. As an adventurer, I have experienced many highlights, such as reaching the summit of Mount Everest twice (1990 and 2002) and achieving the Seven Summits (2008).

However, I know that these successes would never have been possible had it been for the apprenticeship I completed in my early years. As a young man, I participated in many of my father's expeditions and projects, including travelling to the North Pole, up the Ganges River in India and climbing in the Himalayas, as well as helping the mountain people of Nepal.

I firmly believe that young people need to experience the satisfaction and the challenge of being out in nature as well as assisting people in need. With these early life experiences much can be achieved. I thoroughly recommend school communities get involved in World Youth Adventures’ program."
